I started out by drawing a bunch of running stick figures in my sketchbook. As I worked, I felt drawn towards some of the stick figures that looked a little more desperate. I leaned into an unbalanced pose, since it felt more nervous.

I picked the one I felt had the strongest silhouette, took a picture of it, and upscaled it in Clip Studio Paint, where I made a more detailed sketch and finished it up as I would any other drawing.

The character design is simple because I wanted the pose itself to convey the emotion. I picked my color palette using the method shown earlier in the lesson when Ira was using the watercolors.
