Dandelion; gouache on black gouache background

Thank you Kendyll for this beautiful class and draw-along with you! It does feel like I am with you in your studio. Unfortunately I do not have any good color pencils I noticed. I am dealing with the kind of pencils that my kids use for school. Looking at the ease in which you are drawing, and the pain ;-) I am in, I now understand that I never liked drawing (I am more of a watercolor person myself!) because my material is pretty terrible!
Also, I do not have black paper, so I am drawing on a white watercolor paper that I primed with black gouache. So this could make it harder to draw on with color pencils than regular black drawing paper!
Here is my first pencil-on-black (gouache) attempt:
And as promised, I painted over this with gouache. It worked, but I had to be super careful, because I reactivated the black gouache a few times. And I think I overworked the first flower a bit; it became a bit of a yellow magma. I went over it with darker tones and then white again, but careful not to reactivate it, again! So here is the result:
Do let me know your thoughts!
