Critical Care Required

A few spare minutes offered opportunity for me to try out my new colors. Soft pinks, a blue that has a good range from dark to light, a mint green that was more like emerald and an almost neon yellow. What seemed like a simple idea turned into watercolor ugliness.

My fix? I used the most extreme measure  I could think of. I don’t even think it’s on Amarylis’s handy fixer-upper list.

I took a rather damp paper town and wiped the whole mess off in a few gentle scrubs. I was left with a light version. Surprisingly, when it dried, it was more what I had in mind, but, washed out, it needed more contrast. My deerfoot brush dipped into paint and jabbed here and there on the former mess did the trick.

Let’s call this that fix where you "re-frame" what you were doing and try a work-around to try something else. At least I didn’t hate it any longer
