Submitted four 12X9  inch watercolor seascapes using the class reference.  At first, I felt intimidated. Once I began following the teacher's bold and energetic style techniques with a very limited palette, something shifted. I was mesmerized by how shapes and atmosphere seemed to appear almost magically on the paper. I was so focused on mixing colors and placing brushstrokes that I didn’t have time to slip into overthinking. By the third painting, I started to focus on the photograph, and that made me tense again. To steady myself, I focused on getting the sketch as accurate as I wanted it. That simple step helped me drop back into the zone.
