Underpainting

 

This is my second attempt for the project. I already did the background, so I just wiped out the first skin layer and did the underpainting above it.

Color Lay-in

Next, I laid in the colors and the shadows. Had a hard time mixing the shadows as I couldn't get the same/similar color as mentioned in the video. I had to repeatedly try and fail to get a workable shade.

 

Final Output

I tried to get as much detail as possible to finish the painting.

I must admit, it was not easy for me as I am using acrylics and the paints dry so fast. Also, I had to substitute some of the colors since I didn't have some of the ones mentioned in this video. I had to re-do my work twice and start all over again so I can get a desirable result. Nevertheless, I'm so  happy that I finally finished it. I loved how the skin turned out in spite of a lot of trial and error. I still need to improve on the eyes and the hair line, but I'm satisfied with this for now. It isn't as polished as I hoped it to be, but I loved the process of this project. Will probably need to watch this video over and over again so I can do it on my own in the future. Excited to work on more portraits with the techniques that I learned here. Thank you! :)
