Hi Jojo, love this painting...very autumnal I hope you are pleased with it. I especially like the peg! I think Autumn is such a great time of year to be painting things from the garden or countryside, I've been working on a woodland/mushroom/leaves and insects composition, but I think my may have out done me with your little bug- very cute. I hope you keep going with the gouache as I think you've got the measure of it! Kate

Yes, I'm pleased with the painting (I would love to have spent more time on it). 

Your class has been so helpfu, very inspiring and a real pleasure, thank you. 

It has helped me get better at controlling my pallette and limiting my colours (I tend to go crazy and end up with a mess!). My approach is definitely more thoughtful now. 

I did find that my pallette dried out by the time I'd mixed all my colours, so I had to rehydrate with water and in some cases this changed the consistency and colour I'd oringally mixed. I think the trick might be to stop the colours from drying out, is that right? :)

JoJo, your studies are wonderful, those minis are made with so much care and attention to the details. It seems that you've put a lot of work into doing these.Congrats :)

These are beautiful and painterly! There is a definite appreciation for the brush stroke in all of these and you have embraced your brushes. I get such a sense of movement in all these thumbnails! Thanks for sharing!

Wow these are so pretty! I love that you've tried lots of different brushes too, I've never used a fan brush but I can see you've made some really nice marks with it so I might be tempted to purchase one! I'm really enjoying your colour choices and I'm hoping your going to have a stab at painting a few objects and use these beautiful patterns to decorate them. happy painting! Kate

So glad you like the colours in my work; it's amazing the variety that can be mixed with just a few little tubes of paint!

Here are my experiments - I had fun making these. A great exercise for exploring the properties of gouache. Thank you.
