Thank you. I find shading with pencils quite tricky as I have Graves disease which has caused some muscle weakness, so I have to grip things quite hard, which really impacts pressure..... but I am getting there. I have only been using colour pencils for 3 weeks so to be fair, I'm not doing too badly. I am my own worst critic.  The ohuhu pencils work much better than my kalour ones. I can't compare them to prismacolour as I have never used them. But they blend better and are easier to work with. And yes it is fine to share them on Instagram.  You have some really good classes. I will be working my way through some of them... especially your artist inspired ones.

They make a colorless blender that is a pencil with just the binder used in colored pencils. It's a pretty amazing option to help get those subtle blends or to smooth out any lines that occur with harder shading. Mine is from Prismacolor but there are quite a few brands that make them. If you are thinking you'll want to do some more colored pencil work it might be a nice tool to get down the road.  You can also dissolve colored pencil with mineral spirits. In my class about the artist Sean Scully I share that technique, if you are curious. It makes your colored pencil drawings look more like paintings because the mineral spirits breakdown the binder. It's another great way to help get those lighter values. The Sean Scully class might be a good one since you are interested in checking out some of that class series and it involves colored pencils.

I went off to Amazon to look for a blending pencil, and realised the pencil I thought was dodgy in my kalour set is actually a blender pencil 😂😂😂😂😂😂.  The prismacolour blending pencils are only 10 pounds for a pack of two, so I might grab a pack as I am really enjoying exploring coloured pencils. I have never heard of Sean Scully, I will have a Google. Dissolving coloured pencils sounds interesting, and not something I have heard of doing.  My next class is the Georgia o Keefe class. I am waiting for my watercolour paper to come. The stuff I have got at the minute isn't brilliant.

That's a wonderful discovery! 😁 I learned about him through a podcast interview he did on a show I like and then from what he said about his paintings and life, I needed to know more. He works with oil paint that he thins down primarily but to make his art approach easier to do at home I used dissolved colored pencils and thinned acrylic for the class project demonstrations. I think you'd really enjoy dissolving your colored pencil drawings as you play with that medium.  Ooh, I loved making the Georgia O'Keeffe class! l hope you enjoy it. 😊

This took me a little out of my comfort zone, but it was a fun class. I used my new Ohuhu coloured pencils, which are very good. I had a few issues with pressing too hard with the pencils. But I tried to salvage all 4. While far from perfect I really love how my oranges come out.... even if they do look suspiciously more like an apple 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
I had a second go at 3 of the 4... I *think* they are a tad better?
