Clear out phone apps, delete social media and lower screen time

Clear out phone apps, delete social media and lower screen time - student project

I decided to start my digital declutter journey on my phone and computer. I checked the apps that I had, analyzed my phone/computer usage and screen time and realized that I spend an awful lot of time on a couple of apps: Instagram, YouTube and bloody Solitaire of all things! I decided I would rather focus my time on something useful, so I deleted the apps from both devices, logged out of the accounts (I still keep YouTube on my computer and TV, but limit my view time on both). I also removed Pinterest, as I know Id be pivoting to that if IG and YT weren’t available. I then put focus on a couple of apps and activities I don’t mind: Books, Podcasts, Music, Audible, Duolingo and as a backup Brilliant and Buggins (to keep my brain happy). In a week, my screen time on the phone diminished by nearly 2 HOURS!!!

I then cleared out the browser’s open windows (there were nearly a 100 just on my phone!). I now dilligently save the pages I look at or remove them after I’M done, so that whenever I open my browser I’m met with a clean slate.

Next stop will be my photos, which should take slightly more time, but will be just as satisfying :).Clear out phone apps, delete social media and lower screen time - image 1 - student project
