Chipped, cracked and aged

I fell in love with the project images when I spotted them on someone's IG account and I've been waiting for the right moment to try the class.

I didn't have exactly the same colours so tried to get the best match from my set. Sepia threw me as I assumed that was a browny-yellow and I think perhaps I should have aimed for a greeny-grey.

I am a novice with watercolours and I found these exercises really satisfying, especially hearing and seeing how the paint can be manipulated and layered. Having followed through once I may try some of them again in my own time, maybe I'll guide the paint a bit better now I have a clearer idea of the end result.

I never know if I've got the right amount of water on my paper, I seem to be always either too wet or too dry. But overall I'm pleased with my progress and I enjoyed the class.
