hi Kathie, thank you for sharing your lovely painting! It's so beautiful and soft, it reminds me of an early autumn morning :) With gouache, you can use thicker paint and add a bit of white to the mix for additional opacity. You say it was your first time using gouache, I hope you liked it and continue having fun with it :)
