This here is my class project, the sunflower is from the suggested website, Unsplash. I used a Huron tablet with pen, making it easier and quicker to trace the flower. I chose to pick colors from the actual image.

When it came to adding the texture, I to made a copy of my complete illustration, expanded and united it. Then followed the instructor’s steps on adding texture from there. (I wanted texture on illustration only.)

I then added another layer above my illustration and “painted” the center flowers with the blob tool. 

This is the first time using the pencil tool and never explored using the texture effect for this purpose.  I will certainly find use for both in future projects.
