Hey Mars, thank you for sharing your work!  Overall I think you did a really good job with the block-in. The proportions feel pretty good for the most part, the only area the maybe jumps out to me is the asymmetry in the jaw line, but otherwise I feel the features are larger head shape work pretty well!  The only other thing I would comment on maybe would be that if we were to take this drawing further into a tonal drawing, is that the lines would need to be cleaned up a little. That said, because theres consistency of line all throughout the drawing, it could have been intentional on your part, so disregard that if that is the case. The lines do have a nice energy to them, and because its consistent throughout it looks cohesive as a line drawing.  Theres so many ways to take a drawing once the block-in is established so it is totally a personal choice so long as the overall proportions are solid. Good job and keep it up!

Prof Mark, I am extremely grateful to get your feedback. I hadn't noticed the jaw asymmetry. My goal is to improve feature detaiils,  proportions, and likeness, for my pen &amp; ink portraits. The uploaded image has more contrast than the original. I used an HB pencil so I'd erase all pencil lines after inking. My approach to portraits is not very structured but your course has given me solid grounding. I plan to put your lessons into practice until I can more easily get proportions correct and hopefully likeness as well. Thanks again!
