Jen, damn, you're good! Once again, you've paired a fabulous image with creative enhancements!  Astounding work!

Thanks Judy :)I love embroidery ... it's nice to use it in a new framework. Plus I'm using my grandmother's old embroidery floss. :)

Such a wonderful idea, Jen, and one that it's possible to sit while doing. I too have lots of old embroideries. They are lovely on their own, but adding to their heritage value is a fun idea. I used to do a lot of embroidery, and I too loved it.

WOW! That is amazing Jen! I've never seen this done before, and you did an awesome job.

Thanks Shannon :)Elisabeth has two classes (so far) that have embroidery and I absolutely love the final effect.

Wow! This is just fabulous. So much work to create this.

Thanks Denise -- I forgot to mention that I made the paper too.

The paper is fabulous.  It was one of the first things I noticed about this piece.  Did you print the image on the paper or is it a collage?

Thanks Denise :) I was able to tape the handmade paper to a piece of copier paper then send it through the printer. The only problem is that there was a piece of fiber that was really awkward on her neck, so I gave her a choker. But the handmade paper is so soft compared to regular paper that I kept it tacked to a piece of card stock and reinforced spots like the leaves and the earring with some tape on the back of the card stock. The blue paper is also handmade so I glued it and then stitched it.

Thanks Naidu :)I used my handmade paper too.

This is so lovely, Jen! Your starting image was a great choice and the embroidered details are so lovely and add so much to the image. Thank you so much for sharing your artwork as well as for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed the class.  Would you mind if I shared your artwork on my Instagram?

Thanks Elisabeth -- yes, you can share it on Instagram.  :)  I used my handmade paper too since it'll work when you tape it to printer paper. I think if I did the project again I'd remove the flower at the back of her head.

Ooh, I didn't know you could do that. The flower is a nice touch and ties in the colors of her dress really well.
