For the Orton effect, I used a snapshot of a crumbling, abandoned factory in Zagreb. I added a little noise to this one as well, turned down the saturation to give it an old photo effect, and used masking to make the edges more out of focus than the center of the photo. 

My second snapshot was a cobblestone street in Italy. To this one I applied a purple/yellow gradient map that I made a little more subtle by changing the color and location of the gradient stops. This one has some noise as well.
