Art & Creativity Go-Kit

Art & Creativity Go-Kit - image 1 - student project

First, Eva, thanks for the invitation to this space as an opportunity to share our journey.  Next, thanks for the Pinterest collections -- very inspirational.

I've made a number of go-kits, but this one will be the best. I happened upon a bag I used to carry when I travelled which I did a lot. Then it carried a number of electric adaptors for various countries and tech accessories. It was easy to latch onto any bag with a strong velcro strap.

I routinely carry a cross-body wallet, sort of a fancy thing that accommodates other essentials. My new creativity on-the-go bag can latch on that. I already had the essential pencil sharpener. I'm also a fanatic about always having glue and scissors handy. More important are the backgrounds already painted awaiting more. I included black waterproof markers, gel markers in gold, silver and white plus a white Posca pen, a few blank bits of watercolor paper , some water-filled brushes. Also, since I am a writer, I must always have a little pad, not an optional item.

You mentioned essentials and thinking about potential creativity-stoppers. It occurred to me to add a wipe-up rag given the watercolor supplies. That yellow rag came in a big pack, budget priced. I didn't expect it to be as miracle rag. Most all watercolor blots or clean-ups wash almost completely  out except staining paint needs a little brushing. I could have added paper towels, but that would have been bulkier, and once closed, this bag is ready to go, easy to carry and ready for any whim of the moment from mark-making on my already painted pieces to writing or drawing & painting with pencils. So excited about this!

Thanks for this class. I loved the idea of creating a truly ready-to-go kit with all I need. Yes, I can easily go smaller and have options for down-sizing, but this is tailored to what I need depending on the creative urge that arises.

Grateful for your classes,

Judy
