Arirang on a Strawberry Ocarina

I know this class is for the transverse ocarina, but I did it using my little strawberry pendant ocarina I got at ren faire. In this video, I did the sustained note exercise, a scale using the "ta" technique, and I performed Arirang. I've never played ocarina before, and the exercises in this class were very helpful. A major challenge was adjusting the music to fit my strawberry. At first, I wanted to actually find or write down the sheet music so that the exact notes written were the ones I was actually playing, but I found that as long as I understood the scale and the notes as written were within one octave, I could start on any note and follow the jumps up and down the scale regardless of what the actual notes are on the sheet music. It's really fun to play this. Going forward, I will continue trying to figure out how to adjust songs I like to suit the capabilities of my strawberry. I got a Legend of Zelda songbook for it, but some of the songs sound a little weird so I'm going to try adjusting them and transcribing them as sheet music as I found sheet music easier to read than tabs by themselves.
