I wanted to explore the technique of dissolving colored pencil with rubbing alcohol further as well as put my own spin on using shapes, colors, and composition in art. I love this artwork and feel like it could become a series.

Here are my other Sean Scully inspired artworks. For these I drew loosely with colored pencil, then I used rubbing alcohol to dissolve the wax and give them a painterly appearance. I love this technique so much!

I had so much fun building up glazed layers of acrylic paint to create this. I found Sean's work so inspiring.
