Abstract Composition

This was such a great class! Now, every time I start a new painting, I hear Joy's voice in the back of my head asking 'how can we make this more interesting?'

Sharing a couple of my humble attempts at internalizing Joy's teachings. These were done in watercolor as my acrylic paints are locked up in long-term storage at the moment:

I loved the way this turned out, it was so freeing and fun. But I was most mesmerized with the look of the rectangle blocks at the top and I wondered if maybe I could run with this idea and make a whole new composition using just overlapping blocks.
