This was a great class! I think there needs to be more classes dedicated to creating backgrounds. I used to really struggle with creating interesting backgrounds. I'm always looking for ideas on creative backgrounds to finish art and characters. I think clever backgrounds can make a real difference when you have a subject and don't want to draw a whole environment for it. I really liked the use the Aurora and Hartz in Artistic Brushes. I will definitely keep those in mind in the future.

 

Here is a better look at the background I created.

 In this background I used an A-symmetrical frame with different colors applied to it. I used Gaussian Blur to soften the frame and blend the colors. I added a scatter flower stamp brush, and and finished it with brick lines. I was going for a selfie instagram wall vibe for this background. I wanted the background to be soft so my girl to remains the focus.
