Thank you so much Shavani~This adventure was a fun filled week of learning and having fun!

This was my first class with you and it won't be my last.  Your inspiration is contagious and I enjoyed myself throughout the entire process.  

As I explained to you on your comments page, I had difficulty with creating a mood board on Pinterest and instead of taking a separate class to learn everything about using this platform, I allowed myself a break and went with what I had.  I do have many images saved on Pinterest so I managed to rummage through them all to get my inspiration. 

What stood out was all the colorful birds. I'm a 'coloroholic' and love every hue on the color wheel.  I decided to narrow it down to the most colorful ones and try to stick to some I had never heard of and never painted before.  

1.  Favorite part of the Process-besides the painting itself-was my jury selection and deciding what to use. 2nd favorite was giving my collection a theme name!

2.  I then pulled out my color collection cards and made my paint selections this way.  I mixed colors with the three primaries, but had some other colors on my palette as well.  

3. One of my favorite parts of my finished collection: The Red Crest of the Gouldian Finch. It really turned out so velvety and stood out next to his light colored bill. 

4. My favorite painting to complete was the Lilac Breasted Roller.  It all just seemed to come together and I love the background and the rock she sits on as well!  

5. The area of most difficulty to paint was the bill on the Stork Billed Kingfisher. Getting the color and working with such fines lines was giving me a test in patience.  I overworked it and finally said enough is enough! lol....

I chose to work with Acrylics to continue the pledge I made to myself to learn more about acrylics this year.  Putting together my favorite things to paint, animals and landscapes helped me achieve a fun art collection.
