Workshop Timeline:

Step 1: Due September 11th. Get started by taking Introduction to Modern Script Calligraphy from Paperfinger founder Bryn Chernoff. Bryn covers all the details aspiring calligraphers need to get started, from materials and setting up a workspace to basic shapes, line widths, movement, and connecting individual letters. For your project, you’ll share your worksheet progress and an image of a quote or your name in classic modern script. Share your project in the class’ project gallery by September 11th.
Step 2: Due September 18th. Next up, you’ll trade your pen and nib for a brush marker! In Kimberly Shrack’s class Introduction to Modern Brush Calligraphy, you’ll learn proper grip, the basic strokes, how to select the right pen and everything else you need to create Instagram-worthy masterpieces. You’ll put your new skills into practice by crafting a letter to send to someone you love — snap a photo before you send it and upload it to the class’ project gallery by September 18th.
