i used langton 100 per cent cotton paper and pthalo blue (red shade) with paynes grey burnt umber. I used both techniques wet on wet wet on dry. the  ripples i used flat brushes, i did not have a lot of drying time, i still after many attempts dont feel confident painting ripples. however i am pleased with my progress. i have included try outs and a seascape image without boat using and following teachers technique using glass board 100 percent cotton paper thicker tooth same colours
