sandman

sandman - student project

truthfully I was made of sand
I stitched every last grain down to my hips
after falling apart
I didn't eat, I didn't sleep
I was sand in the sheets

I feel emotions in my chest
like whirlpools of sand
they rearrange and reconstruct
the parts of me
that quietly sting

there my hair, my fingers, my lips
they were scorching hot
from the touch of your fingertips
but I wasn't enough
so you left

disintegrated and redone
I stitched and I stitched
but left I was undone
and back you came
but I was already in grains

and so the shapes of your body
I could no longer fit around so tightly
in a hurry we drowned
under a heavy smoke of
sand dipped to the very ground
