metamorphosis
i decided that i liked the flow of the feathers/scales from the first sketch, but that a profile view of the face might be more interesting. this is what i have started so far..
the feathers are rather time consuming, but i'm having a lot of fun just seeing how it evolves as i continue to draw.

i am very interested in metamorphosis -- particularly that of human to animal. I love the visual quality of hair, feathers, scales, and the way they show movement and hint at stories. I want to experiment with texture and storytelling.
