Day 1: Milky way over Mt Rainier.
This was a fun session! I was a day late on day 1, but I'll catch up.
I learned I need to probably double down with the tape, I got some really nice watercolor tape that doesn't tear up my painting, but it also doesn't stick well to the board and mid way through painting, it was thoroughly warped.

This was my first time paining a milky way galaxy, I'm so excited to continue and get better at this!

Day 2: Northern Lights in Alaska
It took me two tries to get one I was happy with, but I loved the process. Using masking tape over the painters tape worked like a charm, no major warping!

Day 3: Point Reyes Northern California
I forgot to add this yesterday, better late than never! I really wanted vibrant colors on this one, so I saturated my brush much more than the last 2 days. I really liked the reflection in the photo so I made it more prominent.

Day 4: Northern Lights in Murphy Dome.

I knew this one would be a challenge since day 2 was so hard for me, but with a lot of working and spritzing and glazing I got it pretty good!

Day 5: Milky Way at Point Reyes

I had so much fun with this one, as I’m getting more familiar with the technique and got to really get into it. I loved the almost rainbow of colors. I might be a little hooked on reflecting the sky since the day 3 project. Haha

Day 6: Dancing Northern Lights in Fairbanks.

I used a spritzer to keep the paint moving ant that helped a lot!

Day 7: Milky Way over Santa Cruz.
I was able to work on the sky much longer with a spritzer. It was really fun getting the Milky way just the way I wanted before letting it dry. I'm pretty pleased with the results. I don't love the foreground as much as I would like, but I was very comforted when my spouse said "that looks kind of like the area around San Luis Obispo. so I did something right!
