Why can’t I upload pictures? Natural dyeing with avocado pits and union skins

I already did some experimenting with kitchen waste an flowers and leaves but this tutorial from Liz has such ckear directions I wanted to start following her tips.

As Liz suggested I went to a local lunchbar and 2 weeks in a row they collected for me the avocado pits. Half of them are still in the refrigerator waiting for another good moment.

I was already collecting yellow onion skins and boy what a lot of colour they produce. Kids liked the more light and fresh almost neon colour most. I reused the onion skins from a week before in a new dye bath and the fabric was only there for at least 1 hour. Maybe less.

At first I got really good results with the black beans but the next day all the colour was gone. If you click on the link you see the purple results… not sure what happened. If someone has an idea, please feel free to comment

I also tried red cabbage and the colour became pale blue. Maybe because of the boiler I used. Maybe that also explains the lighter yellow colour of the onions

I will share some photo’s.

This is the lighter colour from the onion skins I used before. I made a new dye bath and kept the fabric less than a hour in the dyebath. I did heat up the dye bath. I also used a piece of fabric that initially was dyed in a dye bath made from black beans. But a day after getting the fabric out of the water the purple colour was vanished. You can see a hint of it.
