Patty, love your painting!!! :) The central rose is soooo beautiful!  For the plastic card effect it seems that the paper was already too dry or it has absorbed too fast the paint for make it more dynamic.  I would add more dark details (contrast) to those yellow flowers between the rose and hydrangea, with a small brush introduce the shadow to the petals and under the flowers add darker areas to the leaves (from the side of rose it is too light, and it is supposed to be the shadow just under the flower) and in the parts where they are connected with another flowers. Hope this will help you to improve the painting. :)

Thank you for your feedback.  I agree that the paper was too dry when I attempted the plastic card effect.   It's one that I will attempt again as I become more comfortable with the medium.
