I love it! It’s gorgeous. The charcoal really helps your flower to look 3D. I love how you left parts of the blank paper shining through too to show the reflection of light on the vase. Also, showing a picture on the wall in the background gives it context for the viewer.

Thanks Vivienne. I very much enjoyed your class and discovered I really love the look of charcoal with watercolour. I thought it would just look dirty but it is a much more interesting effect than that.

That’s great. I kind of discovered the combination because I can be a bit impatient when painting. :) It was too tempting to use the charcoal to give shadow and contrast rather than waiting for layers of watercolour to dry!
