Great subject to paint during a hot summer day. I chose to paint it in my sketchbook which is a horizontal format and it also prevented me from copying the exact layout which is an extra challenge I like to add for myself.

I loved doing the watermelon slices and playing with my cadmium red deep (Holbein) that gives instant texture to the wash.

However I wasn't happy with how my leaves came out ( I suppose I should have practiced on a separate sheet of paper but I'm too impatient for that). I also realized I should have used different shades of green for the leaves. Oh, well, maybe next time.

All in all an enjoyable class and it looks like it would make a great pattern too.
