Thank you, Annie, for this great course! I found your technique and style so fascinating and inspirational! I've always wanted to design and color interesting pictures but never really knew how. Clearly, I still need a lot of work, but I'm off to a start anyhow. 

About the picture: I wanted to come up with something funny and exaggerated, so I thought of a person who was really droopy with a big nose, who looked goofy and angry at the same time. I don't know why I made him a monarch. I guess I just think of monarchs as naturally droopy and angry people. 

I used a 4h graphite pencil for the draft, Artist Loft dry watercolor paints for coloring the subject, and Prismacolor colored pencils for the background and outlines. I might add more details, but I'm kind of afraid of ruining it. 

Also I used a blue artist's tape to make a frame like in the video, but it ended up tearing parts of the paper. Is that common occurrence or is it a result of the materials I used? The sheet I used was a Canson XL Watercolor 140 lb cold press.
