Watercolor Splatter Flowers and Embracing my Imperfections!

This is my way of exploring Watercolor Splatters Technique on the way to overcoming the perfectionism and embracing the imperfections through creative process.

Splatters is a great way to start painting, to overcome the creative block, face your imperfections and to let the control go and finally to play, get into that cheerful and playful mode.

Starting with something simple is always the best way, these simple flowers have taken only 5 minutes to paint, but this allowed me to switch my mind from mental mode into no-thinking mode where I splatter the paint and create some flower shape, it is magical feeling when form nothing appears something :)!

Next step from the beginning organise the splatters into recognisable shape of hortensia flower! I can control the shape and colors, but the rest is a watercolor surprise!

And finally I can let the control let go and just have fun playing with splatters creating the background. Wild flowers field!

Now I feel relaxed and confident with my skills and I am prepared to dive deeper and personify my perfectionism. To my surprise instead of arrogant angry dictator I have faced to some traumatised and sorrow creature who, in fact, applies those restraints of perfectionism as a defence, some kind of protection from failure and from feeling pain.

Now comes the most important part of the creative process where I can transform this pain, embrace it and fill it with love and kindness through a creative practice. It is very important not to get stuck into the sufferings on the previous stage, but overcome this defence and make this step towards embracing the imperfections.

In this art practice is where actually I start to feel my strengths and how pains are transformed into virtudes. This part of a creative process is very rewarding and recharges with energy and self-compassion.
