This guy gave me a lot of grief; I couldn't get his eyes done properly and my scalpul was scratching off more than I wanted, probably because the surface hadn't dried enough, and I lost the shape of his face somewhere down the line. I also couldn't get an even skin tone as there were always areas that seemed more blotchie than others. This is definitely a learning curve, I will have to revisit this portrait and see if I can do things differently.

 

 

 

OMG, I'm learning so much more than I have in any protrait class. Thank you so much Jane-Beata. I'm so happy with my 2nd week challenge. I still have so much to learn, but I get the feeling I'll be painting a little more confidently by the time I finish all 5 challlenges. I just wish I can sketch the faces a little bit faster.
