Baohong Masters' Choice 300gsm 100% cotton hot-pressed paper and Daniel Smith's watercolors.

I almost gave up on this, but not because of the flower! This was my first time using a hot-pressed paper and I had some serious trouble with the background. I tried to do a simple wash with some salt effects but I didn't like it at all once it dried, plus the salt was well and truly glued to the paper. So I ended up literally washing and scrubbing the paper under a faucet at least three times in order to start over and try something else, until I kinda gave up and went a bit sponge crazy, and you can see the result of that. I'm not that excited about the colors of it. But I gotta say, that's some seriously tough paper, it still looks new after all the harsh treatments I gave it, lol. Anyway, I went ahead and did the flower, I did overwork it a bit, being so unfamiliar with the paper type, but after all that I'm quite happy with it. Lily is one of my favorite flowers as well!

I'll update once I've finished the second one. Thanks Dhritikana for another fun class! :)
