Watercolor Dog Portrait
This was a challenging class for me but I am pleased that I completed it. I also did another on pet portraits to gather all the tips and technique pointers I could.
I chose to paint Lacy, a 13 1/2 year old Chihuahua that my niece recently had to say goodbye to. I was asked to do a watercolor portrait for her and having never done one before I decided to tool up!
Will, thanks for your great class and the guidance you shared. It gave me the courage to tackle something that I was a bit fearful of!
I've included my completed watercolor portrait, as well as my "in process" one and the original photograph my niece sent to me as my reference.
Already others have asked me to create pet portraits for them and I have a bit more confidence to proceed in the future. I plan to do one of our very own Mini Australian Shepherd in the near future. She's a black tri-color and has lots of dark brown wavy fur! I may upload that one as well.
Again, Thank you Will for your time and talent and gift of instruction! Appreciate it so much!
