# Vulcan Miniatures: Building Your Strategic Business Advantage

1. **What is the company mission or goal? Why did you start the company?**

This is the mission statement of Vulcan Miniatures is:

"At Vulcan Miniatures we are dedicated to the development, design and distribution of high quality collectible, paintable and playable figures, miniatures, busts and board games.

Our aim is to create and offer our customers a high quality product in terms of design, production and distribution, as these are authentic, unique and highly customizable figures that can be used to bring life and emotion to various recreational or play situations in an original way.

Our commitment is focused on offering a collection of figurines, miniatures and busts with a high level of attention to detail, authenticity and visual coherence, sustainability in the use of materials and distribution channels, inclusion and innovation in the themes to be explored in the different lines and, finally, the search for collaboration and encounter with the community.

We strive to be the industry leader in the development of figures, miniatures and busts for all types of instances, inspiring our customers to explore new frontiers in design and storytelling through figures and sets that are truly exceptional. “

2. **What strategic advantage do you want to focus on?**

At Vulcan Miniatures our main strategies will be:
- Differentiation
- Innovation
- Brand Reputation

3. **How are you going to build that strategic advantage so that customers choose your product over a competitor?**

- Differentiation:
    - We will focus on miniatures that no one else has developed, especially in the historical market.
    - We will push pieces that have multiple purposes: For collecting, for painting practice, for games and more, via having pieces that you can connect in different parts (For example you can use a face for practice and leave it in a On a paint preview counter, or use it for a special character).
- Innovation:
    - Trying new methods to bring better miniatures to the market:
    - How we prepare our STL files for our customers.
    - Experimenting with new platforms like Thangs and market practices (Subscription or loyalty points)
    - In the physical world, we will try to push for more recyclable materials.
- Brand reputation:
    - Our focus is to push the recommendations as much as possible by giving a lot of support and trying to get as much community feedback as possible: Via email, discord and other platforms.

4. **When customers choose your product, how does it help you reach your mission or goal?**

They help us understand how best to deliver the best miniatures on the market. Whether that be for an artistic field, gaming or something else. Each purchase is not just a financial gain, but an opportunity to understand what the general public wants and to build a relationship to see what each customer wants, needs and expects from us. In this way, in an iterative process, we can focus on producing and offering better content.

5. **How can you protect that strategic advantage from competitors?**

It is difficult to patent or create strong brands in this type of digital market. But our focus will be mainly on distribution and consumer loyalty. Especially on the digital side. On the physical side, we may be able to move to trademarks, especially if we create own-ip’s.

6. **How do you and your team make decisions that align with your strategic advantage and mission?**

Our decisions are guided by our main objective / intention:  ”To establish Vulcan Miniatures as a leading supplier of miniature models, figures and busts, with or without gaming systems by leveraging diverse distribution platforms and maximizing accessibility to a diverse audience of enthusiasts and consumers “

Everything is focused on delivering content that allows our customers a diversity of choices, without overwhelming them and that they clearly understand what each product is.

7. **What method will you use to make tough decisions?**

The system proposed in the course is quite efficient. I would add some considerations:
- How close or far is this product from something similar to my competition?
- Is this product really modular enough to be used in a diversity of situations?
- Can it be reused in the future for another product (thinking about the compatibility and modularity of our products)?

8. **What alliances or partnerships can help you reach your mission or goal faster?**

At the moment, we are evaluating the possibility of collaborating with:
- Influencers
- Paint brands.
- Brands of specialised hobby products.
- Other miniatures companies create special lines that are compatible with each other.
- Entities with IP without creating miniatures.

9. **What resources do you need that you do not currently have?**

At the moment we do not have
- A full team. There is only one person in charge.
- Resources to keep production going for at least 2 years.
- Access to platforms like KickStarter, Stripe and others. We come from South America, Chile. We want to see how we can have representation in the US to access these to facilitate payments and access to massive campaigns.
- Resources for branding.

10. **What is your plan to get those resources?**

At the moment, we are evaluating:
- State of Chile competitive funds.
- Looking at the possibility of obtaining US citizenship.
- Discussion with a government entity of the Ministry of Economy to facilitate access to payment platforms.
- Review with investors and freelancers for the first six months of activity.
