This Design was inspired by walking around Vero beach FL, specifically Orchid Island. My hope was to not necessarily feature the tourist attractions but the everyday joys. 

- only having to wear flips flops

- watching baby turtles hatch on the beach

- watching the private planes practice in the sky

- the noise of palm fronds in the wind

- and the geckos and bunnies constantly in the backyard.   

- the Orchid for Orchid Island is hour Hero, they grow naturally here and the Island used to be covered

I wanted to keep the design light and simple to make it a more wearable fabric in the Florida weather ... though after finishing the design I feel it would be great children's bedding.  

 

I created 2 colors ways and am exploring a third with only shades of blue

I cleaned up 3 characters for pillow designs I thought they would nice as a set... maybe also in inverse colors.
