I've played a lot and here are my results.

 

Unfortunately I have a very old version of AI which has not the puppet warp. I did my best to bend the stems without this useful tool.

 

 

 

For this one, my AI slowed down and it took me hours to duplicate and move the elements, so they are not exactly where I wanted them to be, specially the leaves.
