Thanks for the suggestion. I love how versatile this medium is. I have mostly done watercolor, and I have always had a hard time with using too much paint and overworking. I know it's possible to do so with gouache, but it will be easier to avoid. I love it.

Thanks very much. I welcome any comments or suggestions. I will work o the background and maybe repost the result. I have to admit that before I asked the question about using gel mediums, I had not watched that part of this lesson. I was having trouble with the website freezing up, and was so frustrated that when it came back up, I just jumped to the painting lessons. I have now watched the whole class! :)

Mary Ann, I'm so glad you like gouache, it's my favorite too! I wouldn't say the flowers are overworked, I think they look pretty close to the original. I would "calm down" the background a bit. Since it's artist gouache, you can probably just go over it with a damp brush to smooth it out. Or maybe apply another layer of diluted pink. Otherwise the colors, brush stokes, composition - everything looks great! Thank you so much for sharing your work!

First try with artist's gouache. Overworked the flowers--there's a LOT of paint on them. However, I am surprised at how it came out - I'm pleased with it.
I really like this medium.
