I made a set of note cards, envelopes and folder as a Christmas present, I thought I'd experiment with digitalising one of my monoprints to use it as a motif on the notecards. I wanted to create the envelopes from a roll of wallpaper and used some Tim Holtz vellum paper to make the pocket folder.

Creating the envelopes from wallpaper, using my template worked really well and even though they curled up a bit, it was easy to fold them.

Next I scanned my monoprint and used Gimp to enhance the image and get rid off the frame, which I didn't want to appear on the cards. I then printed the image onto card stock and cut the cards.

I left the front flap a bit longer than shown on the template, as I wanted to make the most of the beautiful print on the vellum.

At first I was worried that the envelopes might not fit into the folder, as they were thicker than the envelopes I usually fold from book pages and magazines, but they fitted in just fine.

I dyed some vintage lace I found in the Haberdashery shop I work part time for to give it a bit of a grungy feel and used it to tie the folder. I have to say, I'm really happy with the result.
