The designer, Catherine Flauter, used pale colors for both the floor and ceiling, also you can see balance in use of the same wood tones for both the cabinetry and the tabletop.

Unity - the way all the elements in the design agree with one another, - the 'natural' look of the sisal rug, the linen used on the fabric-backed chairs, the wood of the table and cabinetry, the glass on the backsplash underneath the cabinets..

You can see unity in the scale of the objects (chairs, table) to the surroundings.
