This class kicks A$$
10. Pulling it all together, Extreme Form
I'm really happy with how this image came out! I was lucky to find a dynamic reference image with well defined musculature... and quite interesting how the torso appears curved, although the rib cage itself can't bend.
9. Torso: Form
It’s a good thing that my blue sketcher pencils are easy to erase… as there was a LOT of erasing going on, until I found the right proportions… practice, practice, practice!

8. Leg: Function
I recently had the chance to sketch a war memorial, in which the sculptor had been fairly generous in his depiction of the muscles... so a perfect opportunity to put into practice recognizing the muscle groups we've learned!
The copper oxides gave the statue a greenish tint, but in my artwork I think I may have overdone it a bit :)
This study of "Yoga Muscles" pulls together what we've learned in the previous few lessons.

7. Leg: Form

6. Arm: Function

5. Arm: Form

4. Basic Blocking Techniques:
Started with blocking in the light blue lines, and added some refining and a little shading with pencil.
I know we’re not onto faces, yet, but this one came out rather better than I’m used to, so figured it was worth a close-up :)
