The cathedral of Turin

The cathedral of Turin - student project

Here is my very first project on Skillshare!

Altough I've been drawing for a few years, I've never followed any course. I'm glad I'm finally able to do it now, thanks to this site.

I decided to draw the Cathedral of Turin, which is one of my favourite buildings in the city where I live. I was too lazy to take my own photo, so I used this one as a reference:

First of all I drew the outline like this:

As you can see, I'm not really good at sketching because I like sharp lines.

However, I tried to follow the step-by-step instructions carefully.

I drew the lines on the ground, even though they weren't much noticeable, because I like the way they lead the eyes towards the cathedral. I also drew some architectural details on the facade in an attempt to convey its eminent appeareance.

The finished project looks like this:

I'm aware my drawing is not perfect. I think it turned out a little too cold and the paper is all dirty because I'm very messy, but I'm happy with it.

I think I couldn't have achieved this result without following this course.

I hope to receive comments soon in order to improve!
