The Road To Colorado

Hi everyone, hope you’re enjoying the class!

My project was inspired by the following brief.

Assignment Brief: Traveling, Summer Vacation, and Road Trips

I got the idea for creating this assignment as I was planning a much needed vacation with my family this summer. We had a few destinations in mind, and decided eventually to go on a roadtrip to Colorado (which is *only* 12 hours drive form my home in Texas). We ended up having a very special time.

My process for creating the Project started with expanding on the assignment brief. I used the ChatGPT to create a list of items to pack for a road trip that includes swimming, hiking, and dealing with various outdoor elements.

Next, I doodled my own, shorter list in Procreate. I highlighted items that felt interesting and attempted to formulate a diverse list of items to draw.

These are my spot sketches. I’m loving how they turned out.

The next step was to upload my sketches into Adobe Photoshop, where I used the Pen Tool to block out the basic shapes. I then added layers of colored brushwork to render and bring my illustrations to life. Of course, you can follow the art process with the class lessons.

Here are my illustrated Spots.

Thank you for watching my project. Leave me a comment or a like and let me know what you think! Until next time….. Keep on drawing!
