Texture swatches

I just got some new paints this weekend, this class was excellent to make lots of fun tests with all my papers and my cheaper paints.

I had a paper sample pack, with only hot pressed and pretty thin left in them, so I tried some blooms, washes and what not. I also started to do some drills at some point...

I tried some other materials as well, #2 from the top, makes an animal print, so cool, it was made with a plastic bag (not saran wrap). Other one that is cool is the fern leaf, that's the 1st row last colomn and 3rd row 3rd colomn.
Hot press did bad, it's yellow too, 3rd row, 2nd colomn. It's suppose to be a wash!!!!

Still on cheap paper, this time it's my postcard/drill paper....

This batch is made on a cheap bright crown paper that I have tons of but I dont like using!

I also made postcard size from my ''good'' paper, I mean the one I enjoy the most, the expensive strathmore... I never use, it scares me too much to ruin the thing... it's the worst paper.

This one is ohuhu and canson XL side by side. I use the Ohuhu most of the time, cellulose, slow drying time, but seeing both side by side, canson gives a more room for pigments to flow and interact because the pigments can't fall in crevasses.

I'm super happy about the results and I now have an extensive sample set of effects and techniques I can play with when I lack inspiration to choose a subject.

Thanks for the class!
