Team Manifesto

PURPOSE

Our team exists to create meaningful, impactful designs and solve problems. Everyone contributes differently through expertise and new ideas. I want everyone to understand the why behind our work, where they add value, and how their contribution connects to the bigger picture.

MINDSET

High performance starts with curiosity, ownership, adaptability, and continuous learning. We ask questions, challenge assumptions, try new approaches, and learn when something doesn't work.

I don't expect perfection or for everyone to have every answer. I do expect us to be thoughtful, prepared, willing to learn, and committed to finding a way forward.

TEAM DYNAMICS & TRUST

Our differences make us stronger. We bring different personalities, experiences, strengths, and ways of thinking to the table, and we use those differences to bring out the best in each other.

Trust means being able to say "I don't know," "I need help," or "I disagree" without fear of how it will be received. It also means doing what we say we're going to do and communicating early when something changes. We challenge ideas, not people.

OWNERSHIP & ACCOUNTABILITY

When we commit to something, we own it. That means communicating progress, asking for help when needed, and following through.

My job as a manager isn't to make every decision or solve every problem. It is to create clarity, provide context, remove barriers, and give people the space and confidence to own their work.

GROWTH & WELLBEING

We should always be learning, from our successes, our mistakes, and each other. I want to create opportunities for people to develop new skills and grow in the direction they want their careers to go. At the same time, high performance needs to be sustainable. We respect time away from work, communicate when workloads become unrealistic, and look out for one another.

MY COMMITMENT AS A MANAGER

I will listen before assuming, provide context instead of simply giving instructions, recognize great work, address problems directly, and admit when I don't have the answer. I will advocate for my team while also being honest with them. I want us to build a team where people can do work they're proud of, continue to grow, trust the people around them, and enjoy working together along the way.
