Teaching is hard, guys!

If you've watched the whole class, you'll know that my life was a wreck partway through making it. (If you haven't watched the whole class: spoiler alert! Sorry!)

In all honesty... Even if my life were "together" -- whatever that means -- this class would still be a jumble. My brain is a sock drawer.

I made several sketchbooks as a trial run:

The MJ/Folk Art sketchbook (long story) had TOO. MANY. PAGES. The second two are the manageable form I taught in the class.

These three were destroyed by collage, fire, and lawnmower, respectively.

My least favorite pages were the first two in the black/white Tarot book:

I wasn't on my A-game, but I don't think these are super-fails. If you want to watch me fall flat on my face, you should see me try to draw a horse. (See: fail video.)

These were also from the Tarot book:

These are animals:

Oddly, my very favorite thing from the whole class was this little flower:

It's a bookmark now!

You'll have to watch my annihilation video for footage of sketchbook slaughter.

Finally, I edited the whole thing together.

What a frigging mess.

(This is obviously beyond the scope of your project. I'm just sharing my life with y'all now.)

As with all things in life, there were wins... and there were fails.

If you pause the video at any point when I'm talking, I will be doing some exorbitantly stupid thing with my face.

But... you know... that's my face, guys. It's stuck to my skull.

Like my art, it's part of me. I hope you like my art and my face... but if you have to choose, I hope you like my art.
