Summer Evening Garden Abstract

The abstract bug has got me, I just can't get enough. The NO RULES approach is liberating. This class really helped me explore the concept of layering. I loved how at first I did not like what I saw on the canvas, it seemed messy and almost muddy. But I stayed with the discomfort, something I usally distract myself from by starting again, and kept layering shapes and brush marks. Then the mixed media on top.

I am pleasently suprised with how it turned out. It conjured memories of my great aunt's garden in the south of France. We'd spends hours just sitting outside enjoing the colourful delights of the carefully planted paradise. There were tortoise too...! Which my brother and I would happily spend hours lookig for. Gleefully calling out any discoveries, much to the dismay of my grumpy relative. happy days.

Thank you Suzzane, another great class that's helping me dicover a new path along my artist jouney.
