Spring (and summer) pages
I have added a couple of pages from the summer. After getting back from family vacations in July, our crepe myrtle and black-eyed Susan's are in full bloom. And some fall leaves are already falling.....can you tell which is glued and which is painted? I can probably fill the rest of my sketchbook with fall leaves while practicing various techniques. So fun!
The green background for the white lily really helps - loved that tip! I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this nature sketchbook as you can see from the following pages. The black and yellow little salamander found its way into our pool. In the past I would've had my husband retrieve and throw over the fence. But now, I got it out by the pool so I could see clearly to sketch. Then watched it burrow under a plant which is exactly what it does! Stays underground during the day and comes out at night to feed. While plentiful in our area, they are not easily seen so I consider myself quite lucky! I am going back to my roots (got a biology degree over 30 years ago) and now a budding naturalist....all due to Julia's outstanding classes. Please keep them up!!
