I'm trying to learn how to make a Kitchen Witch, so I am exploring different techniques. Any suggestions?

The person I'm making the kitchen witch is looking for  funny and whimsical. I've been trying to use stockings to male the face and body and the wrapping the dress around the two parts.

That can work!  You could do something like a clothespin style of doll where you wrap the "cloak" around the body.  Hats are easy to make with felt - just a cone and a circle.

I wanted to send a pic of my first female gnome, but it will not let me add it here. I made a cute kitchen witch using a wood bead, yarn for a dress, wool yarn for hair, felt hat, a faux leather strips for hands and feet.  It looks good, but not sure.
