This is beautiful Christine. I love the texture on the cabins and your background trees are perfect!  I really like how you created the snow effects for depth. The color variations really make it come alive. I remember this class and I remember the struggles and redoing it a few times. It has always been a class I would love to revisit sometime!  :)

Oh yes, trees are such a topic. I'm currently enjoying sketching them on the side while out walking. Nothing complex, just a single tree, or branch, or even just a piece of evergreen. Quickly captured with pencil or Sakura. It has helped me so much. When painting with watercolors, I like to use a "Struppi," an old school brush with frayed bristles, for the structure of the trees, and a trimmed feather brush or a springy calligraphy brush for fir trees. It makes it easier. Your picture looks great, Christine. Wonderful atmospheric mood.

Kristin has given some great pointers....I just want to go on that walk...Sounds wonderfully relaxing :)
